A delegation of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) led by the Rt.Hon. Roger Nkodo Dang has arrived in Brazzaville ahead of the High-Level Pan-African Summit on HIV/AIDS and health financing in Africa from 11 to 12 July 2019 in Brazzaville, Congo.

Rt.Hon. Nkodo DANG was accompanied by Hon. Djamel Bouras, 3rd Vice-President of the PAP as well as Hon. Simplice Zingas, Chairperson of the PAP Committee in Health. Other bureau members are set to arrive in the Republic of Congo in the next few hours.

“Brazzaville will be Africa’s health capital on 11 and 12 July this week and we look forward to the fruitful engagements during this meeting. We are grateful to the Congolese authorities for hosting this event, which is testimony to the commitment of H.E. Denis Sassou NGUESSO towards a healthy continent,” says Hon. Nkodo DANG.

The Summit, in collaboration with the Republic of Congo and the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), aims to engage African Union member states, international donors and bilateral partners on the need to mobilize domestic resources, maintain and sustain investments for the AIDS response in Africa, in a bid to meet Fast Track targets and to eradicate AIDS.

The summit is expected to be graced by various heads of state and government.
