COMMUNIQUE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PARLIAMENTARY FRIENDSHIP GROUPS IN THE PAN-AFRICAN PARLIAMENT

Mr Djamel Bouras, Acting President of the Pan-African Parliament, is announcing the creation of parliamentary friendship groups between the Pan-African Parliament and its international partners.

The Acting President of the Pan-African Parliament welcomes this step forward by the Pan-African Parliament and urges all the friendly partner institutions to join this positive dynamic in favour of friendship and cooperation between peoples.

The parliamentary friendship groups are committed to contributing to the international influence of Africa and its institutions, particularly the African Union.

The Pan-African Parliament, as a major pillar of inter-parliamentary cooperation, hopes through this initiative to establish concrete partnerships with all its partners in the service of the peoples and their common interests.

The purpose of this announcement is to give a new impetus to the Pan-African Parliament’s international policy, dedicated exclusively to the interests of the African peoples and their partners, and within the framework of the decentralized cooperation that is intended and envisaged by our Heads of State and Government. The Pan-African Parliament thus acts in support of the efforts made by the leaders of our continent in strengthening the permanent and necessary link between the countries and peoples of our continent and the world.

Hon. Bouras DJAMEL
